Book Haul
The books I ordered have arrived!  I went on a mad book buying binge and they all arrived at the same time.  Or rather, I neglected to look in the mailbox for about a week and they only appear to have all arrived at the same time because of that.  Here’s what I got:  Vegan Slow Cooker Cookbook – I thought this was for vegans who take a long time to cook stuff, but it turns out that it’s about...

Coming out Vegan to Mom
My mom’s main hobby is dieting.  She is a huge fan of fad diets and tries every new dieting sensation that sweeps the nation.  At least, it seems that way.  I think she’s been on a diet more than not on a diet.  That’s where I get it from, but I am a novice in the world of fad diets in comparison to my mom.   I went to visit my mom and her husband for Thanksgiving.  True to form, my mom regaled me...

LEVEL UP: Vegan Subconscious
I had a dream last night that someone set a huge plate of what looked like cooked beef strips in front of me and although there wasn’t anyone else around I felt a huge amount of pressure to eat it.  It looked delicious and I knew it would taste good (please remember that I’m not vegan because of the taste of meat, but because it’s wrong), but I really did not want to eat it, yet I still felt an...

Joyfully Incomplete: Why I'm a vegan... →
addictedtoangst: It’s more than a diet. Or just food choices. Or looking fantastic. It’s a sense of connectedness with everything around me. It’s that sweet humility that comes from knowing that I am no better or worse than any soul on this planet, that my loves and joys and pains are no greater than any other…  Beautifully stated.

Raw Vegan: Thoughts?
Since I got my alergy tests back I’ve been increasingly interested in a raw vegan diet.  By diet I mean way of eating not just something you do in order to fit into a dress. Do any of you fine folks know any good books or websites that outline how to undertake this lifestyle safely and effectively?  Tumblr was such a big help last time, I figured I’d ask you guys again!  Thanks!

Does anyone know of a comprehensive vegan resource...
Is there such a place where the “rules” are written down or theories shared?  I’m not trying to be ignorant; I’m trying to fix my ignorance. Edit: Thank you all so much for your answers!  You guys are such a big help and have great ideas and insight.

Secret Vegan
I’m a closet vegan.  I realize this is counter to my earlier point of being a “good example” vegan, but hear me out.  Before I decided to become vegan I thought that the only reason I would ever do such a thing was so that I could feel superior to people who were not vegan (I’m that shallow).  I thought this would happen automatically because the couple of vegans I knew at the time seemed to act...

Proselytism
As with most of my posts this one promises to be disjointed and half-baked.  I’m not a writer.  I’m sorry; please, bear with me. I’ve noticed that proselytism is a big part of the vegan lifestyle.  I get that.  I do.  If you really and truly believe something to be wrong or right, it’s almost your duty to tell others about it and impress upon them the validity of your beliefs.  I don’t have a...
